ENOC Group, a leading integrated global energy player, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Allied Biofuels Holding, based in Abu Dhabi, to explore the offtake and distribution of Sustainable Aviation Fuel and Electro-synthetic Sustainable Aviation Fuel across local, regional, and international markets.
The fuels are expected to be sourced from Allied Biofuels’ integrated production facility currently under development in the Republic of Uzbekistan.
Under the Memorandum of Understanding, ENOC Group and Allied Biofuels Holding will establish a dedicated working group to assess the commercial feasibility of creating a long-term distribution pathway for the produced Sustainable Aviation Fuel and Electro-synthetic Sustainable Aviation Fuel. Subject to the evaluation framework under the agreement, both companies will work toward a formal supply agreement before the facility commences operations.
Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) remains one of the most scalable near-term pathways to reduce aviation-related carbon emissions. However, global demand continues to outpace available production capacity. As a leading aviation fuel supplier in the region, ENOC Group is well-positioned to support the development of a reliable distribution and offtake pathway for lower-carbon aviation fuels.
Allied Biofuels’ integrated facility is being designed to produce both Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) and Electro-synthetic Sustainable Aviation Fuel (eSAF), supporting the long-term sustainability objectives of the United Arab Emirates and the broader international aviation sector.
Hussain Sultan Lootah, Group Chief Executive Officer of ENOC, said:
“Developing a national Sustainable Aviation Fuel ecosystem requires the full value chain to scale together, from production and certification through to distribution and reliable offtake. This agreement reflects ENOC’s strategic commitment to advancing sustainable energy solutions that are aligned with the United Arab Emirates Sustainable Aviation Fuel Roadmap 2030 and Net Zero 2050 Strategy. We are focused on making Sustainable Aviation Fuel commercially viable, operationally dependable, and central to the United Arab Emirates’ net-zero aviation transition while ensuring that the nation remains at the forefront of clean aviation on a global stage.”
Alfred Benedict, Managing Director of Allied Biofuels Holding, said:
“ENOC Group is a highly respected energy leader with deep aviation fuel expertise and strong regional distribution capability. This Memorandum of Understanding is an important step in developing a credible pathway for Sustainable Aviation Fuel and Electro-synthetic Sustainable Aviation Fuel from our Uzbekistan facility to local, regional, and international markets. As aviation accelerates its transition to sustainable fuels, Allied Biofuels is focused on building a reliable, scalable, and commercially viable supply platform that can support long-term decarbonization across the sector.”
This announcement reinforces ENOC Group’s continued commitment to building a world-class Sustainable Aviation Fuel capability and supporting the transition toward lower-carbon aviation. By engaging across the Sustainable Aviation Fuel value chain, from production and certification to distribution and offtake, ENOC Group is strengthening its role as a strategic enabler of the aviation sector’s energy transition.
For Allied Biofuels, the Memorandum of Understanding represents another important milestone in advancing its integrated sustainable fuels platform and building a credible commercial pathway for future fuel supply from Central Asia to regional and international aviation markets.
